Code of Conduct

Committed to promoting and upholding ethical behavior

Our Code of Conduct is an expression of who we are both as individuals demonstrating ethical behavior in our everyday interactions and as a company operating as a socially responsible corporate citizen. The Code doesn’t provide rules for each situation we may encounter, but serves as our guide in day-to-day proper behavior. Our Business Principles help ASML conduct its business in an ethical way, ensuring we are not only a responsible business partner, but that we compete in a fair manner.

We provide a dedicated Ethics Program, which offers the necessary support, advice, training, and communication to enable employees and others to understand and follow our Code of Conduct.

Speak Up Policy

Our Speak Up Policy allows anyone to report issues with respect to the Code of Conduct, including ethics complaints of a financial nature (Whistleblower's Policy). Those who Speak Up will be protected for raising concerns about suspected misconduct in good faith. Concerns will be treated confidentially and complainants can remain anonymous if necessary.

Code of Conduct for Suppliers

ASML conducts business on the basis of fairness, good faith and integrity, and expects the same from parties with whom we do business. ASML became a member of the Responsible Business Alliance in 2011 and adopted the RBA Code of Conduct, which provides guidance in four critical areas: Labor, Health & Safety, Environment and Ethics.

Human Rights Policy

We are committed to respecting universal human rights and honoring the values of ethics as expressed in our Code of Conduct and Business Principles. Our Human Rights Policy is applicable to all our organizations and our controlled subsidiaries anywhere in the world, as well as to our suppliers.

Our Human Rights Policy is in line with various key international human rights standards and guidelines, including:

  • ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work

  • UN Declaration of Human Rights

  • UN Global Compact

  • OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises

  • Code of Conduct of the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA)

Because ASML is committed to upholding human rights standards and guidelines we make sure that within our value chain the human rights are:

Respected: As a company we aim to avoid any human rights violations in operations in which we have direct or indirect involvement .

Protected: We frequently assess actual and potential human rights risks in our own operations and in our supply chain. We educate employees about the importance of human rights and cooperate with the international community and our business partners in preventing human rights violations.

Remediated: We ensure that any (potential) human rights violations within our value chain can be reported to ASML through a grievance mechanism (our Speak Up policy) and that such incidents are addressed with the appropriate level of priority.

California Supply Chains Act and UK Modern Slavery Act Disclosure
